There are a few very important changes in employment law that you need to be aware of that will be happening in 2018!
- March and May 2018 – Changes to Fit for Work – On the 31st of March 2018, the assessments service provided under the Fit for Work service stopped accepting new referrals in December 2017 in England and Wales, but will continue to deal with ongoing referrals until 31 March 2018. In Scotland, the service will end on 31 May 2018. Employers, employees and GPs will continue to be able to use the Fit for Work advice helpline, website and web chat, which offer general health and work advice as well as support on sickness absence.
- April 2018 – Childcare Voucher Scheme – Childcare voucher salary-sacrifice schemes will close to new entrants from 6 April 2018, but can continue for existing users. The new tax-free childcare scheme does not involve employers-individual apply themselves.
- May 2018 – General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) – Employers will be required to carry out audits of employee personal data that they collect and process to ensure it meets the General Data Protection Regulations.
We are offering you a fantastic opportunity to attend a great workshop to offer practical guidance on how employers can comply with GDPR and I’ll be providing a demonstration of how our great HR software (HR Pulse) will also be compliant.
The workshop will be running on 28 March 2018 from 8 am-10.30 am.
You’ll get a free practical guidance pack (see below) plus a breakfast.
